    Two Sea Dod Wood Corbels
    19th century
    Extremely fine carved pieces in shape of a baroque sea dog with wings. Probably nut wood but not sure. I guess the pieces used to be part of some furniture because the top of the heads are flat. There is a table in Hardwick Hall in Derbyshire with very similar creatures. I used to have them over an archway in my shop where the flat top was not visible.
