Ornate Victorian Cast Iron & Glass Ball Handle /Furniture Hardware Antique

mystery antique : unsure of original use obviously an antique cast iron handle with glass ball knob
weighs: 8 ounces
glass ball measures approx. 1.5" across
iron handle measures approx. 4.5" in length
this piece has an odd angle, so I ado not think it is a foot or furniture leg
I believe it is a handle perhaps for a barber's chair or even ornate coal shoot...any input is appreciated..
appears to be quite old and is heavy and beautifully made.
