Antique Adjustable Mechanism for Piano Stool Desk Chair Organ Salvaged Part Vtg

From a local estate, here is the mechanism from an old adjustable chair. This was a smaller child's office or desk chair but it should work for other projects, including a piano or organ stool, etc. Cast iron, the top piece has spots for (3) screws that would go into the seat, the bottom fits (4) curved legs, original hardware is included as shown.
Definitely an older piece but nothing wrong with it, shows some age and patina but it works as it should. Can someone use it?
